Creating Table Landscapes with Bonsai Trees

One of the most enjoyable application of bonsai growing is using bonsai trees in a table-top tray landscape scenery.  Especially for people who could not always venture out in the countryside and is stuck in the city due to work, these bonsai tray landscapes or Penjing are a welcome treat. By just viewing removes stress. Each landcape has a story of its own, changes with the seasons and remarkably beautiful.  They are certainly a piece of art.

There has been an increased used of Philippine Native Tree species in the landscaping of streets, urban parks and also in reforestation.  This is due to the popular use of native species instead of the exotic introduced tree species.  Some of the species used nowadays are the following:
